The Phone Should Be Ringing: my new book is out
21 straight rules for getting found, getting picked and getting called. On Amazon now, with a free printable workbook.
When the phone isn't ringing, it's almost never the work. It's that customers can't find you, can't tell you apart from the other businesses they're comparing, or can't reach you when they finally decide.
That's what my new book is about. The Phone Should Be Ringing: 21 Straight Rules for Getting Found, Getting Picked, and Getting Called is out now on Amazon. It's Book 1 of Marketing Without the Agency, a Powers Advertising Field Guide.
What's in it
Twenty-one rules, one chapter each. Every chapter ends with a short Do This Today list, so you can put the rule to work the same afternoon you read it. Most of the rules are free to follow, and none of them requires an agency.
The book is split the way a customer actually decides:
- Getting found. Showing up when someone nearby searches for what you do.
- Getting picked. Giving the person comparing you to three other businesses a reason to choose you.
- Getting called. Making it easy to reach you the moment they decide.
The free workbook
There's a free printable workbook that goes with it: all 21 worksheets, the 105-point marketing Scorecard and a 30-day plan, laid out with room to write. Take the Scorecard first, write down your number and the date, and take it again in 30 days.
Who it's for
Owners of local service businesses: contractors, salons, shops, restaurants, clinics, anyone whose customers find them on a phone and then call. If you'd rather do the work yourself, the book is the list. If you'd rather hand it off, that's what Powers Advertising does: a complete website for your business for $149 a month, nothing up front.
