Most agencies sell you the two or three channels they staff for and quietly subcontract the rest. Powers Advertising covers search, answer engines, social, video, email, SMS, web, print, and broadcast / OTT — and the person selling it to you is the person who builds it. Twenty-nine years, no account layer, no handoff.
The usual choice in East Tennessee is between a specialist shop that does one thing well and ignores the rest, or a full-service agency where a strategist sells the work and a junior team delivers it. Both leave the same gap: nobody is accountable for whether the channels actually feed each other.
Powers Advertising is the third option. One senior practitioner, 29 years deep, who has personally shipped in every channel on this page — and who wrote the tracking code that proves which ones worked. The video gets made knowing what the search strategy needs from it. The email gets written knowing what the paid social already told the audience.
That is not a philosophy. It is the reason a 50-year-old fence contractor with no digital presence produced 645,000 search impressions and 518 inbound phone leads in twelve months while the video and social programs were being built at the same time.
Nine capability groups. Engage one, engage all of them, or start with an audit and decide after.
Found by people, and by the machines people now ask
Traditional search optimization is table stakes. The shift that matters is that a growing share of buyers never see a results page at all — they ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, or Google's AI Overviews and act on the answer. Those systems cite sources that are structured, consistent, and specific. Most local sites are none of those things.
Organic and paid run as one system
Each platform rewards something different. The work is producing native-feeling creative for each one, then putting budget behind whatever the organic audience already proved out — and reporting on cost per lead rather than reach.
Concept through distribution, nothing subcontracted
Written, shot, cut, scored, titled for search, and distributed. A production day is planned to yield a hero spot plus a quarter of short-form vertical — the only way video math works on a regional budget. And you almost certainly have hundreds of photographs of finished work sitting in a folder doing nothing, in a feed that now rewards motion over stills. We animate those into real video — your jobs, your product, your place, moving — adding people or elements where a shot needs them. The difference between this and the AI video clogging everyone's feed is that a 29-year creative director edits every frame and throws out the six-fingered hands, the warped signage and the logo that is almost right. The tool generates motion. Judgement decides what ships.
Broadcast discipline, addressable targeting
Connected TV buys the precision of digital targeting with the credibility of a television screen — and in this market it is close to uncontested. Production and media planning are handled together, so the spot is built for the buy rather than adapted to it.
The channels you own outright
Owned audiences do not get repriced by an ad platform overnight. Lifecycle email and SMS are the cheapest revenue in most businesses and the most commonly neglected — usually because nobody wired them to the CRM properly.
Built by someone who writes the code
Sites, storefronts, and the custom software around them. This is not a page builder with a template — it includes ERP integration, custom point-of-sale, and enterprise interface work done under contract to a national laboratory.
The layer everything else inherits
Identity, voice, and the system that keeps sixty pieces of monthly output looking like one company. Creative direction here means art-directing the work, not commissioning it.
Still works, especially wired to digital
Direct mail with a QR code into a review funnel is not nostalgia — it is one of the highest-return local tactics available, and it is exactly how a fence contractor built 200 Google reviews from zero.
The part that makes the rest provable
Most marketing arguments are really measurement arguments. If nobody can say which dollar produced which call, every channel gets defended on opinion and nothing gets fixed. This is the layer most shops skip because it requires writing code.

Channel mix, budget, and sequence — ordered by what compounds fastest, not by what is easiest to bill.
Tracking first so nothing runs unmeasured, then creative and campaigns. Most engagements have something live inside month one.
Production, media management, and optimization on a steady cadence. One point of contact, who is also the person doing the work.
Monthly reporting that leads with leads and revenue. When something is not working we say so and change it.

Of the small businesses that outsource their marketing, 73% are using more than one outside partner and one in ten is managing four or more — a web person, somebody on social, a printer, a sign shop. Businesses under ten people are the least likely to have anyone in-house coordinating any of it.
So the website says one thing, the truck says another, and the ads point at a page nobody updated. Every vendor did their part correctly. The result still doesn't hold together, because owning a piece and owning the outcome are different jobs.

Agencies win the account with their most experienced people and deliver it with their least expensive ones. That isn't a conspiracy, it's arithmetic — production staff are roughly two thirds of a typical agency payroll, and the senior people who pitched you are the most expensive hours in the building.
There is nobody else here. No account manager relaying your feedback, no junior learning on your budget, no ticket queue. You get twenty-nine years of creative direction doing the actual work, which is only possible because the client list is deliberately short.
And I'm in Knoxville. If something is wrong, I can be at your place of business tomorrow.
Almost nobody in this market publishes a number, which makes the whole category harder to shop than it should be. These are honest starting points — the range moves with scope, and the drivers are listed below.
Send the photographs you already have. You get one finished video back, and you decide from there. Credited against your first month if you carry on. No retainer, no meeting, no shoot day.
Four finished videos a month at the same $250 apiece, built from the photographs you already own — finished jobs, your crew, your product — with AI generating the motion, and people or elements added where a shot needs them. Scripted, edited, captioned and cut for each platform.
Everything above, plus real shoot days: on-site filming, drone and aerial, staff and customers on camera, and the locations your buyers actually recognise.
It starts with photographs you already own, and the AI generates the movement. Where a shot needs a person or an element the library does not have, we add one. Then every frame is edited and checked by hand — which is the part most AI video skips. No six-fingered hands, no melting signage, no logo that is almost right. The AI does the motion. Twenty-nine years of creative direction decides what actually ships.
Creative, calendar, media buying and reporting. Includes management of up to $10,000/month in ad spend, then 15% above that. Spend goes direct to the platforms and is never marked up.
Strategy, technical and local SEO, AEO and GEO, content, email and SMS, plus the tracking and attribution underneath. Scales with locations and content volume.
Marketing, social advertising and the Studio & Motion video tier — one number instead of four vendors. Bought separately those three run $4,500 a month. On-location shoot days add $2,500/month, or are quoted per project. Most small businesses that outsource marketing end up paying three or more people who never speak to each other: everybody owns a piece, nobody owns the result.
You are not required to start on a retainer.
Ad spend and media placement are always paid direct to the platform and never marked up. Single projects, short engagements, and one-off audits are all available — you are not required to start on a retainer.
Price only means something next to what you would otherwise do. Here are the three honest alternatives, with their actual numbers.
How most local businesses actually buy this: an SEO shop at $750–$1,500 a month, a social agency at $1,000–$2,500, a web person billed separately, and a video company with its own project minimum. Four invoices, four points of contact, and nobody responsible for whether any of it connects.
Full service is one number, one person, and the channels are built to feed each other.
Real, published, and worth understanding before you compare it to anything: it is managed hosting with thirty minutes of edits, a website subscription on a twelve-month lock, or self-serve software you operate yourself. Useful products. None of them is a person doing your marketing.
If that is genuinely what you need, we will tell you so and point you at it.
Only relevant if you were already considering it. A Knoxville marketing salary of $90,000–$120,000 carries a 30.1% benefits load per the Bureau of Labor Statistics, plus software. And that hire is one generalist who still cannot shoot video, build a site, or buy broadcast.
Full service is roughly a third of that, and covers work no single hire could.

Local work is done locally — on site, in person, with a camera. National and remote engagements are run the same way they were for Oak Ridge National Laboratory and a 100-location franchise: over video, on a schedule, with everything documented.

Powers Advertising offers nine capability groups from Knoxville, Tennessee: search (SEO, answer engine optimization and generative engine optimization), social media and paid social, video production, TV/OTT and streaming, email and SMS, web and e-commerce, brand and creative direction, print and out-of-home, and analytics with marketing operations. All of it is delivered by principal Jason Powers rather than assigned to a junior team.
Most Knoxville agencies publish nothing at all. The ones that do sit at the entry end — $249 to $600 a month for managed hosting, a website subscription, or self-serve software, and $750 to $5,000 a month for SEO. The credentialed local firms bill $150–$199 an hour with $10,000 to $25,000 project minimums, and publish no rate card. Powers Advertising publishes its rates: $250 for a single finished video built from photographs you already own, $1,000 a month for four of them, $3,500 a month with on-location filming and drone work, $1,500 a month plus ad spend for social advertising, $2,000 a month for marketing and organic growth, and $4,000 a month for everything together. Cost moves with the number of locations covered, content volume, and whether tracking has to be rebuilt before results can be measured.
SEO (search engine optimization) is about ranking on a results page. AEO (answer engine optimization) is about being the source an AI assistant quotes when it answers a question directly — which requires question-shaped content, extractable facts, and FAQ or HowTo structured data. GEO (generative engine optimization) is the broader discipline of making a brand legible to generative systems as an entity: consistent claims across the whole domain, schema.org markup that resolves who you are, and machine-readable files like llms.txt. A buyer who asks ChatGPT for a recommendation never sees a results page, so SEO alone no longer covers it.
Almost no Knoxville video company publishes pricing. Powers Advertising publishes a per-video price. One finished video built from photographs the business already owns is $250, credited against the first month if the client carries on. Four a month is $1,000 — the same $250 apiece. AI generates the motion and people or elements are added where a shot needs them; every frame is then edited and quality-checked by a creative director with 29 years of experience, which is what separates it from the AI video most people have seen. On Location is $3,500 a month and adds real shoot days, on-site filming and drone work. A one-off on-location production starts at $2,500. Multi-day shoots, paid talent and media placement are quoted separately.
An in-house hire makes sense once marketing is a full-time job with a predictable workload, but a senior generalist costs $90,000 to $160,000 a year plus tools. A freelancer is cheaper but usually covers one channel. A full-service agency covers everything but typically sells with a strategist and delivers with juniors. A senior solo practitioner sits between them: agency-level range and seniority, freelancer-level overhead, and the person you hired is the person doing the work. The tradeoff is capacity — one person takes a limited number of clients at a time.
Yes. On-site work covers East Tennessee including Knoxville, Farragut, Maryville, Alcoa, Oak Ridge, Powell, Karns, Hardin Valley and the surrounding counties. Remote and national engagements are routine — past work includes Oak Ridge National Laboratory across Tennessee and California, a franchise scale-up across Florida, New York, Pennsylvania and Georgia, and e-commerce work delivered entirely remotely.
Yes. That includes national broadcast campaign production experience, connected TV and over-the-top campaign builds, streaming and pre-roll placement across services like Hulu, YouTube TV, Roku and Amazon, local and regional broadcast and cable planning, and radio and streaming audio production. Spots are produced to broadcast delivery specification. Connected TV is close to uncontested in the East Tennessee market, which makes it unusually efficient right now.
Paid social and paid search produce measurable data within days and meaningful optimization within about a month. Local SEO and map-pack movement generally take 60 to 90 days. Organic search and content compound over six to twelve months. For reference, Loudon County Fence went from no digital presence to 645,000 search impressions, 3,080 organic clicks and 518 inbound phone leads over twelve months, with the first meaningful lead flow arriving well before the twelve-month mark.
Three things. First, range: 29 years covering search, social, video, broadcast, email, web, print, and the analytics underneath, rather than one specialty plus subcontractors. Second, seniority: the person who sells the work is the person who builds it, with a record that includes scaling Zoom Tan from 3 to more than 100 locations and designing enterprise interfaces for Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Third, evidence: specific, dated, verifiable numbers rather than "award-winning" with no award named.
